What is compression fracture of spine?
A compression fracture occurs when the normal vertebral body of the spine is squashed, or compressed, to a smaller height. Osteoporosis is the most common cause. It may also be caused trauma to the back, tumors that started in the bone or spread to the bone from elsewhere.
