What is cystic fibrosis-related diabetes?
Cystic fibrosis related diabetes is common. Insulin deficiency develops due to build up of thick secretions in the pancreas which damages hormone producing cells. Insulin resistance also develops due to chronic infections, high levels of cortisol due to stress and frequent use of corticosteroids.
