What is diabetic retinopathy?
Diabetic retinopathy is damage to the retina of the eye related to chronic progressive diabetes. Most patients with diabetes eventually have some degree of retinopathy which can impair vision and can lead to blindness. Regular eye exams are recommended for patients with diabetes.
