What is gastrointestinal polyps?
Gastrointestinal (GI) polyposis is the presence of multiple polyps in the GI tract. Polyps are abnormal growths of tissue projecting from the mucous membrane. Colon polyps are usually asymptomatic but occasionally cause rectal bleeding, pain, diarrhea or constipation.
