What is gingivitis?
Gingivitis is inflammation of the gums (gingiva) caused by dental plaque that forms daily on the teeth. It can range from mild gingivitis, to more severe periodontitis, and finally acute necrotizing ulcerative gingivitis, which can be life threatening.
