What is Hashimoto's thyroiditis?
Hashimoto's thyroiditis is an autoimmune disease in which the thyroid gland is gradually destroyed by thyroid antibiodies. The cause of Hashimoto's thyroiditis is thought to be a combination of genetic susceptibility and environmental factors.
