What is medial collateral ligament tear?
The medial collateral ligament (MCL) is one of four major ligaments that maintain the stability of the knee joint. When the MCL is stretched too far, it is susceptible to tearing and injury. Common symptom following an MCL injury is pain in the area of the ligament, swelling, or bruising.
