What is meralgia paresthetica?

Meralgia paresthetica is characterized by tingling, burning pain, numbness or an irritating sensation felt on the outer side of the thigh due to injury, compression, or disease of the lateral femoral cutaneous nerve (LFCN), a sensory nerve to the skin.
