What is temporomandibular joint syndrome?

Temporomandibular joint disorder includes several subtypes involving the mandibular joint of the jaw. It results in dysfunction or limitations in motion causing significant pain and impairment. The 3 variants of TMJ include muscle disorders, joint derangement, and degenerative joint disorders.
