A septal myectomy is a cardiac procedure to reduce muscle thickening by removing part of the septal wall of the heart. This will result in ridding of any obstructions of blood flow caused by the muscle thickening. A septal myectomy is a common treatment for Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy.
